Tootsie Fruit Chews

Tootsie Fruit Chews

What Is It: Little fruit flavoured taffy rolls. They come in cherry, vanilla, lemon, lime, and orange.

Packaging: It comes in an orange outer bag with the rolls themselves being the colour of the fruit that it represents. Good enough.

Taste/ Final Analysis: As a fan of fruit flavoured candy this is one of my go to's when I go to the Dollar Tree  (or wherever else I see them.) They are all very true to the fruits they represent with cherry being my favourite followed by orange, lemon, vanilla, and finally lime. But that'smore of an indication of my favourite flavours as they are all very juicy and possess strong flavour. If you like fruity candy then check these out.

Bit O Honey

Bit O Honey

What Is It: A taffy like chewy candy with a strong honey flavour.

Packaging: They don't ever change their classic packaging for this as it has its traditional red and yellow bag with an adorable bee on the front. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Taste/ Final Analysis: This candy has been around a long time and for good reason. It's delicious. You get the one flavour and that's honey and it lasts for quite a while. One piece will take you 3-5 minutes to finish completely  (unless you stupidly swallow it whole or something.) I always think of this as the ideal candy to have while walking or hiking because it won't melt and you can just pop one in your mouth and go. Very hard on your teeth though.

Caramel Marshmallow Sugar Babies

Caramel Marshmallow Sugar Babies

What Is It: The box reads "delicious candy coated pieces filled with caramel and marshmallow." Can't argue with that.

Packaging: Nice baby blue box with pictures of caramel and marshmallows on it. Looks cool.

Taste/ Final Analysis: This is definitely a candy for the caramel lover. Lots of caramel flavour with every bite. Despite the white colour in the candies I didn't really get any marshmallow flavour whatsoever. I liked these a lot but if you're going to advertise marshmallow flavour as a major part of your product than you have to deliver.

5.5 out of 10 (delicious but major points off for not delivering what was advertised.)

Private Selection Roast Beef And Kroger Medium Cheddar Cheese Slices

Private Selection Roast Beef And Kroger Medium Cheddar Cheese

What Is It: I put these two items together because I ate them together and they're made by the same company. The roast beef I got sliced medium  (not thin or thick) at the deli counter. The cheese was by two packs for $3 over in the cheese section at Kroger.

Packaging: Both items were in acceptable, no frills packaging.

Taste/ Final Analysis: I made cold cut sandwiches out of these and delicious sandwiches they were. The roast beef had just the right amount of pink in it and just melted in my mouth. The cheddar added that bit of sharpness to the sandwich and squirt some mustard on it and it's delightful. Even though I didn't do it this time the roast beef would have been great as a hot open faced sandwich with a little gravy on it too. The cheese could be used for a wide variety of things as well and was great for this application. Some great stuff from Kroger here.

Fast Bites Cheeseburger

Fast Bites Cheeseburger

What Is It: A frozen cheeseburger made by AdvancePierre Foods that I bought at Dollar Tree. It's very basic and comes woth meat, cheese, and bun.

Packaging: Again very simple as they just have most of the box covered by a picture of the product. Gets the point across.

6.5 out of 10

Taste/ Final Analysis: For a cheap cheeseburger from Dollar Tree this was surprisingly satisfying. They put enough cheese on it and the patty wasn't half bad either. Just make sure you follow the cooking instructions exactly or you will end up with a rock hard bun and a ruined sandwich. If you're making a meal out of this I recommend two sandwiches and ketchup and mustard. While it's a decent sandwich it definitely needs condiments on it  to help it out. Not a bad way to spend a buck.

Combos Sweet And Salty Caramel Creme

Combos Sweet And Salty Caramel Creme

What Is It: A pretzel filled with caramel creme.

Packaging: Standard Combos packaging with a yellow stripe representing the cararmel as well as a picture of a caramel creme candy leaves no doubt as to what you're buying.

Taste/ Final Analysis: This was a really good sweet snack. I love sweet and salty and this is a good take on that. There is a good caramel flavour here although I think there's a little more creme than necessary as it kind of takes away from the caramel a bit. Still all in all when you take the full bite in the pretzel and get that sweet and salty sensation it definitely makes you glad you bought the bag.

Hot Pockets Pepperoni Pizza

Hot Pockets Pepperoni Pizza

What Is It: A pepperoni pizza wrapped in a pocket.

Packaging: Definitely an appealing box as it's red, comes with a big picture of the product, and has a little pepperoni and cheese. Pretty good.

8 out of 10

Taste/ Final Analysis: This is one of the classic Hot Pocket flavours and for good reason as it's got tons of flavour. They stuff it with lots of pepperoni which is good as well as a good balance of cheese and sauce although I would have preferred a little more cheese and a little less sauce but that's just me. One thing that always happens to me is lots of sour belches for hours after eating these so keep that in mind. All in all a good product though especially for on the go.
