Mello Yello Zero

Mello Yello Zero

What Is It: Diet citrus flavoured soda pop.

Packaging: It comes in a black box with some generic looking writing graphics. It comes out a little cooler looking on the can.

5.5 out of 10

Taste/Final Analysis: Despite the fact that this looks like Mountain Dew or in my case Diet Mountain Dew this tastes very different. This is a little stronger on the citrus flavour but still has the "freshness" that I love in this sort of drink. Not sure how the non diet version of this tastes but I like this a lot.

Kickapoo Valley Deli Tray

Kickapoo Valley Deli Tray

What Is It: A pack of sliced snacking cheese from the Kroger deli. Included are cheddar, swiss, pepper jack, and colby jack.

Packaging: It looks like a tray of cheese thus it looks absolutely perfect.

CHEESE!!!!!!!!! out of 10

Taste: These are all delicious variations of their cheeses. The swiss is my favourite mostly because swiss is one of my favourite cheeses. The rest are all tremendous as well. Get some crackers and summer sausage and it's a great day.

Wishbone Chunky Bleu Cheese Dressing

Wishbone Chunky Bleu Cheese Dressing

What Is It: The title says it all.

Packaging: It come in a mostly clear bottle green labels on it with some decent artwork on it. Looks a shade better than most dressing bottles.

Taste/Final Analysis: This was some pretty darn good bleu cheese here. Had some nice big chunks in it and a good sharp flavour to boot. Although I'm not a salad eater there is lots of uses for this such as dip for chicken wings, croutons, pretzels and lots more. Very good product here.

Grippos Twin Pack Original Potato Chips

Grippos Twin Pack Original Potato Chips

What Is It:  A twin pack of original potato.

Packaging: It comes in a red bag with some adorable potatoes on it. Kinda cool I think.

7 out of 10

Taste/Final Analysis:  Now I must confess as a guy that loves bold flavours I generally avoid plain potato chips. However for me if I'm in the mood for chip dip than plain potato chips are my best option and these are definitely good for that. Fairly thick chip and a good level of saltiness. It's better than the Lays variation of a plain chip I'd say. Very good for what it is.

Little Debbie Zebra Nutty Bars

Little Debbie Zebra Nutty Bars

What Is It: These are the traditional peanut butter, wafer bar only instead of being covered with milk chocolate it's covered with white chocolate with a little darker chocolate swirled in there.

Packaging: Definitely a cool looking box as it's a blue box with an elephant to represent the peanut butter and the zebra to represent the white chocolate. Very cool.

9.5 out of 10

Taste/Final Analysis:  As different as they look and are packaged they are very close to like regular Nutty Bars. The peanut butter is the dominant flavour here as is the wafer's crunch in the middle. The white chocolate makes a marginal difference but it's very close to the milk chocolate flavour. This is a good snack but not different enough from the original to say you have to go out and get this.

Skittles Sweets And Sours

Skittles Sweets And Sours

What Is It: Skittles with a mixture of sweet and sour flavours. Included are sour cherry, sweet orange, sour blue raspberry, sweet strawberry, and sweet watermelon.

Packaging: Like most Skittles boxes this one looks colourful and awesome. It's half pink and half green with some rainbow graphics and of course some Skittles on there. Great box.

10 out of 10

Taste/Final Analysis: This was a great effort by Skittles here. The sour flavours are really sour particularly the blue raspberry. The sour cherry was my favourite flavour though as I love cherry anyway and sour cherry is naturally delicious in my world. The "sweet" flavours were not too much different than normal Skittles with all being a good representation of their fruit. The orange was my favourite of these but only because of my preference for orange. Like I said a great product and definitely worth picking up.

Bob Evans Sausage Sandwiches

Bob Evans Sausage Sandwiches

What Is It: Refrigerated or sometimes frozen sausage biscuit sandwiches meant to be microwaved.

Packaging: It comes in a mostly purple(?) box with the signature Bob Evans barn and the sandwiches. Looks pretty good even if the purple is random.

7 out of 10

Taste/Final Analysis: This is a darn good breakfast sandwich. Assuming you cook it properly (it's pretty idiot proof) everything works together perfectly. The biscuit is nice and thick and delicious and the sausage has great flavour. Great for a quick breakfast or a snack it's sure to satisfy. A piece of cheese makes it even better (I like sharp cheddar.) High recommendation.

Private Selection Normandy Style Camembert and Town House Spinich, Artichoke, and Feta Flatbread Crisps

Private Selection Normandy Style Camembert and Town House Spinach, Artichoke, and Feta Flatbread Crisps

What Is It: Camebert is a soft, creamy, suraface, ripened cow's milk cheese. The crisps are exactly that flavoured with spinach, artichoke, and feta seasoning flavour stuff.

Packaging: The camembert has a pretty cool cover with a nice picture of the product on it that Kroger put a price label on it. The cracker box looks really awesome with some nice red colours and some beautiful looking pictures of the crisps.

8 out of 10

Taste/Final Analysis: This was a really interesting flavour thing going on there. The crackers had a ton of flavour on their own with a definite pronounced feta flavour there. Then you add in the camebert which to me was like kind of a cream cheese with a swiss cheese type of flavour if that makes any sense. It really worked well with the crackers and had my taste buds dancing. I recommend these products individually but especially together.

Kroger BBQ Chicken Wings

Kroger BBQ Chicken Wings

What Is It: A box of breaded chicken wings with bbq sauce on them from the Kroger deli.

Packaging: It comes in the standard deli clear plastic box. Not much to say here.

5 out of 10

Taste/Final Analysis: These were some decent enough bbq wings. There were a lot of meat on these bones and the breading was good and crisp once warmed. The bbq sauce was kind of stock sweet bbq sauce but it worked okay. I dipped them in bleu cheese for added flavour. Not the most spectacular thing in the world but for $3.59 a pretty good deal.

SuperPretzel Original Soft Pretzels

SuperPretzel Original Soft Pretzels

What Is It: Frozen pretzels meant to be heated up to make soft pretzels. Salt is also included.

Packaging: It comes in a black box with a pretzel on the front. I like it. Kind of a classic look.

8 out of 10

Taste: This is a classic snack for me. They can be either oven baked or microwaved with the results being fairly similar. They have a nice puffy texture which is really good for these. It always reminds me of being at a carnival. You sprinkle the salt that they give you on there and you're good to go. If you want to take them to an even higher level then some mustard dip or queso cheese and you have a fantastic combination. High recommendation.

Big Russ Premium Beer Cheese Hot

Big Russ Premium Beer Cheese Hot

What Is It: A tub of hot beer cheese. Duh.

Packaging: A pretty standard looking tub with the name of the product and the state of Kentucky since it's made there. Good enough.

6 out of 10

Taste/Final Analysis: Ok other than my mom's this is by far my favourite beer cheese I've ever had. It has a great cheddar flavour but they add in a ton of beer flavour and even though I don't drink alcohol at all it is so good in this context. I like to buy a loaf of pumpernickel rye and go to town. It's one of my go to's as a snack. It's kind of pricey at 4.99 a tub but it's worth every penny. I love it.
