Fischer Hoy Fish Sticks
What Is It: Frozen fish sticks from the Dollar Tree.
Packaging: A pretty nifty looking bix with a cool looking pelican and lots of fish sticks on there. Awesome colours as well.

Taste: These are a lot better than they have any right to be. If cooked properly they have a great crunch and pretty darn good flavour too. I used some of the Frisch's tartar sauce with them and boom! Cheap, satisfying meal.

Pirate's Booty White Cheddar Puffcorn
What Is It: The title says it all.
Packaging: This has a really cool pirate character on here along with a treasure chest filled with puffcorn. Awesome.

Taste/Final Analysis: This was one of those discount store purchases (Ollie's Bargain Outlet to be exact) that didn't cost much. Very good white cheddar flavour with the awesome fluffiness texture of a good puffcorn. I may never see this product again as they change up the snacks at these discount stores a lot but this was a good, cheap snack.

European Cookies Classic Shortbread
What Is It: A basic shortbread cookie that I got at the Dollar Tree.
Packaging: It comes in a nice looking red box with the cookies shown on them. Fancy looking and nice. Proper shortbread flavour and nice, crumbly texture which is perfect for shortbread. They're great straight up or even better crumbled up over vanilla ice cream. Good, inexpensive box of cookies.

Kroger Jumbo Biscuits
What Is It: A roll of pre cut biscuit dough.
Packaging: This is pretty basic with some pictures of the biscuits on here. Good enough.

Taste/Final Analysis: These are some pretty good biscuits (assuming you or I don't burn them.) Nice and flaky and quite large too. These are good with strawberry jam (my preferred jam anyway) or you can make a breakfast sandwich. I don't think it's quite on the level of Pillsbury's version but it's still pretty decent.

Milky Way Midnight Dark
What Is It: A dark chocolate bar that also contains a vanilla nougat and caramel.
Packaging: It comes in a properly dark black wrapper with the logo and some cool graphics as well. I like it.

Taste/Final Analysis: This is a fantastic chocolate bar. As good as a regular Milky Way bar is this takes it to another level. The wonderful dark chocolate flavour combined with the flavour and texture of thevanilla nougat and finished with delightful caramel. One of the best candy bars anywhere.

Krave Jerky 3 Flavours
What Is It: As the title says we are checking out 3 flavours of the Krave beef jerky. Included here is Garlic Chili Pepper, Basil Citrus, and finally Lemon Garlic.
Packaging: The garlic came in a red package, the basil in green, and the lemon in the blue. Pretty straightforward other than that.

Taste/Final Analysis: The garlic chili pepper was easily my favourite of these. A good garlicky flavour finished off with the slight heat of the chili pepper made every bite delicious. The Basil Citrus was just a huge punch of citrus in the face. I didn't really like this one too much. Too much citrus dominated here. The Lemon Garlic I put in the middle here. There was a good amount of lemon flavour but didn't taste much garlic. Not bad but there are better flavours out there. Definite high recommendation for the Garlic Chili Pepper.

M&M's Pretzel
What Is It: A larger traditional M&M with a pretzel in the middle.
Packaging: It comes in a blue bag with all of the M&M artwork that comes on all of their packages. Looks pretty cool.

Taste/Final Analysis: I like these but they really lose their M&Mness with this pretzel. There seems to be a lot more pretzel than chocolate here making the pretzel flavour dominant. Now I like pretzel a lot and like this product but I think it could have been done better.

Hershey's Cherry Cordial Kisses
What Is It: Milk chocolate Kisses with a cherry creamy center.
Packaging: It comes in a red almost Christmas looking bag. Definitely looks good.

Taste/Final Analysis: This was a fantastic take on a Kiss. It's hard for me to say anything is better than the original (or the dark chocolate for that matter) but this has got to go right up there. The milk chocolate that we all know and love is here and then the creamy cherry center like a Queen Anne's cherry cordial is a perfect finish. I could eat these by the bag.

Banquet Frozen Meals
What Is It: I will be reviewing 3 different ones. The backyard bbq comes with a boneless rib, mashed potatoes, and corn. We also havethe Turkey Meal which comes with 3 turkey slices in gravy along, peas, and stuffing. Lastly we have the Sweet And Sour Chicken which comes with several chicken pieces doused in sweet and sour sauce. Rice is also included.
Packaging: All 3 come in the traditional Banquet red box with the meal post cooked pictured on there. Gets the job done.

Taste/Final Analysis: At barely over $1 a piece these are some fine meals. The rib had a pretty decent bbq sauce and the vegetables were passable (as good as you're going to get for frozen tv dinner veggies anyway.) The turkey and gravy was probably my favourite out of these as the turkey was cut thin and was tasty, the gravy was nice and I really liked the crouton stuffing as well. The sweet and sour chicken was probably the weakest of these three but still delivered good flavour with the sauce, plenty of chicken pieces, and a good amount of rice to finish this off. Great, inexpensive options from Banquet.
